""The American Centurians" was created to encourage commentary and dialog on current political, economic and social issues of interest to all Americans.  A "centurian", as you know, was the elite guard of the Roman Army to protect and insure the survival of the Roman Empire. Since then, the term "centurian" has been commonly used to describe a strong guardian or protector.  This site was designed to protect and guard your free speech and the right to express and discuss your opinions on issues regardless of who agrees or disagrees so that America will continue to be a country of the people and for the people.  Thus, the name "The American Centurians".

 Tired of the same old rhetoric, the same old cliches, and the same one liners?  We want to create real dialog and commentary on issues which effect the every day lives of the "ordinary Jack and Jane" in America.  Topics which are often masked by a simplified and divisive conservative or liberal point of view regardless of the issue.  Any room for fair, objective, and independent thought focused on what is really best for the country?  It doesn't matter if you are Democrat, Republican or Independent---just that you are an interested, average citizen with an opinion that counts!  Don't let your voice get trampled by others or through a lack of apathy!

So let's wakeup, get our coffee, and talk...........

Praise to George...he has left the White House and is staying out of politics for now!  However, his VP - Dick Cheney - is a different story.  Hey, Cheney, please take a hike back to Wyoming and raise some cows; your opinion no longer matters.  Cheney is like a fungus between the toes - you just can't get rid of it despite the treatment.  Do the honorable thing - LEAVE town!  Obama will call you if he needs advice.  That may not happen given your past analytical expertise.  Maybe the Republicans will run Cheney and Palin, wow..that should really increase their chances of winning in 2012.
